E-Liquid Safety

What is an E-Cigarette?

It is an alternative to smoking tobacco products, such as cigarettes, cigars, or pipes.

In addition to proportioned nicotine delivery, this vapour also provides a flavor, and physical sensation, similar to that of inhaled tobacco smoke, while no smoke or combustion is actually involved in its operation.

The electronic cigarette is designed to resemble the outward appearance of real smoking, but without the chemicals hidden in real (analoque) cigarettes.

What components make up an E-Cigarette?

An electronic cigarette consists of the following components:

  • A mouthpiece

  • A heating element

  • A rechargeable battery

  • Various electronic circuits

What is Vaping?

Vaping is the lingo or term used for smoking e-cigarettes or vapor devices.  Since there is no smoke, but instead vapor…the term vaping replaces smoking.  An example of using it in a sentence or conversation:  As an ex-smoker myself, I enjoy a good "vape" instead.  My wife enjoys the fact that I can continue vaping inside while we watch movies, instead of having to pause the movie so I can go outside for a smoke break.

What is E-Liquid?

E- Liquid is the fluid that fuels the Electronic Cigarette. It is what provides the nicotine solution and the flavoring to your Electronic Cigarette. It is the vapor in which you exhale that mimics the traditional tobacco smoke.

Is there nicotine in E-Liquid?

We have an array of different flavors, some contain nicotine and some are nicotine free.

Which different nicotine strengths does E-Liquid come in?

E-Liquid is offered in the following Nicotine strengths (by volume):

None – 0

Extra Light – 0.3%

Light – 0.6%

Regular – 1.2%

Extra High – 1.8%

Depending on how many traditional cigarettes you consume daily, will depend on how much E- Liquid you will consume. Smokers who indulge in a pack and a half a day will generally use around 30ml a week.

What is E-Liquid made of?

E-liquid uses base ingredients to create a smooth flavor. This base can consist of PG, VG or both. PG (Propylene Glycol) and VG (Vegatable Glycerin) are combined with natural or artificial flavors such as cherry or espresso which creates unique and satisfying recipes. E-Liquids also typically contain nicotine, although some do not. In most cases, E-Liquids that indicate 0mg of nicotine will mean there is no nicotine included.

What is PG or Propylene Glycol?

Propylene Glycol is used as a flavoring carrier in food products, as an ingredient in food coloring and also used as an additive in various medicines. A combined base of PG/VG blend is much more smooth then 100% PG base. Propylene Glycol is non toxic.

What is VG or Vegetable Glycerin?

Vegatable Glycerin is a sweet, thick, vegetable based liquid. 100% VG base is very thick and hard to smoke effectively. A combined PG/VG blend is recommended. Vegatable Glycerin is non toxic.

What Is Premium E-Liquid?

All of our E-Liquids are made in our manufacturing facility in the state of Florida in the United States. We use our custom recipe of PG and VG to create the best quality E-Liquids possible. Using only premium ingredients and flavorings creates the highest quality E-Liquids, thus Premium E-Liquid.

What is regular E-Liquid?

Regular e-Liquid may contain any of the following chemicals which are considered harmful if inhaled:

Acetoin: This ingredient has the possibility of reacting with other chemicals such as Diacetyl. We do not use any flavoring ingredients that include Acetoin. Because we only create Premium e-Liquids we will never include any oil based flavorings, which can be harmful if inhaled.

Diacetyl: This ingredient is used to create a buttery flavor. Diacetyl may be hazardous when inhaled over a long period of time. None of our premium e-Liquids contain this harmful ingredient.

Our extremely high quality control standards ensure that we select only the highest quality food-grade flavoring ingredients. We ensure that our premium E-Liquids deliver fantastic flavor and vapor with every puff.

What are the key components to the E-Liquid?

Taste is the first sense heightened when smoking an Electronic Cigarette. Some enjoy menthol; some enjoy traditional flavors, while others enjoy fruity or sweet flavors. For some smokers the most important factor is the sensation you get when the nicotine hits the back of your throat while inhaling. E- Liquid, depending on the strength and flavor you decide to buy will leave you with this sensation.

What is the vapor produced from the E-Liquid like?

The vapor produced is the smoke-like substance that is exhaled when smoking a Electronic Cigarette. E-liquid provides a consistently thick vapor giving you the same feeling and look you would get when exhaling a traditional cigarette.

Who can purchase E- Liquid?

You must be of legal smoking age (18-21) in your state to purchase and use this product. This item may contain Nicotine.

Which nicotine level should I pick?

If you are new to vaping or e-cigarettes, you will want to experiment to see what is right for you. Everyone is different and not everyone will use vaping devices or electronic cigarettes in the same way. For example, you may find that you like to puff on your device infrequently, using it much the same way you might have previously taken a cigarette break every so often throughout the day. If so, you may prefer a higher nicotine level. Other users may find they like to puff frequently throughout the day and don't need as high a nicotine level. Some people like to switch the nicotine level around according to their needs, using, for example, a higher nicotine level first thing in the morning to get going, then going down to a lower level throughout the day, and back up for an after dinner smoke with a glass of wine.

Your nicotine level will also be influenced by how heavy a smoker you were when you smoked cigarettes. A pack a day smoker will probably want to start with a medium to extra high level of nicotine, which an occasional user will probably only need a lower level.

Do you sell hardware or e-cigarette devices?

Currently, we offer replacement cartridges for cig-a-like batteries. However, we will be stocking hardware devices soon.

Common Vaping Lingo

A Cone = A Cover for the connections of the atomizer and the battery, so it all blends nicely together and gives a streamlined look.

Analogue = a real tobacco cigarette

Annealing =  in metallurgy and materials science, is a heat treatment wherein a material is altered, causing changes in its properties such as hardness and ductility. It is a process that produces conditions by heating to above the critical temperature, maintaining a suitable temperature, and then cooling.

This with E-cigs is a process often used to burn off the manufacturing coating on coils and steel mesh

Atty = Atomiser, which is a heating coil wrapped around a wick, which is then fed with e-liquid, and when heated at the right temperature by a suitable voltage battery, and inhaled, produces vapour.

The atty screws onto a suitable battery and a filled cartridge is then inserted into the atty. The filler inside the cartridge pushes into the atomizer bridge and the bridge sucks up the juice. When the bridge is moist enough, it feeds the wick with juice.

Automatic Battery = The Automatic battery has no button, but has an internal sensor instead, which activates when you inhale.

They give you the natural feeling of smoking a cigarette.

Some Automatic batteries have a sound sensor which activates when it hears a sound. And other Automatic batteries work by air pressure.

They require some attention to the sensor hole which is located inside the threaded battery contact where the atomiser/ cartomizer screws on. This hole tends to get e-liquid in it caused by  liquid leakage from overfilling. Automatic batteries need this area cleaned regularly. Failure to keep liquid out of the hole could cause battery failure or sensor damage.

Batt - battery

Battery unit = a computer chip and a little silicone flap connected to the contacts that activate it.

The computer chip also shuts down the battery if you have taken a draw longer than10 seconds (With most, though there are other variations as well) or if the voltage is low and it needs recharging.

Cig-a-like= a cigarette look alike

Carto = Cartomiser, This is mainly a heating element coil that is wrapped around a wick similar to a three piece system, but instead, there is filler wrapped around a center hollow tube allowing air flow. They can be filled with e - liquid by removing the mouth cap, and dripping liquid into it whilst it is on an angle. Do not let liquid go down the center.

The three piece system however is filled by dripping e-juice into a cartridge.

Cartridge = A cartridge is filled with special (cotton wool like) fluff , which can withstand high temperatures and does not burn under heated atomized conditions, and is fairly simple to use

Coil = Wire wrapped around a wick, to enableto  the E-liquid, to heat up and vaporize. most commonly used coil is Nichrome, and kanthal, and available in various resistances.

Constant Vaping = The time that you are actually holding the button down on the battery and vape

Clearo = Clearomiser. Many in the electronic cigarette industry choose to define clearomisers as transparent cartomisers, even though they’re not always built the same way. A common cartomizer is made up of a metal or hard plastic casing, polyfill filling and the atomizer. The clearomiser, on the other hand is usually made of thin, very easily breakable plastic, in order to be transparent. Also most clearomisers don’t have polyfill filling, as it would make it hard for vapers to estimate how much e-liquid they have left. Instead they have a wick.

Display= Displays are often used in Variavle voltage/ Variable wattage Devices.

Depending on the device you're using,  they will tell you how much battery power there is left in your battery, what the ohmage of your atomiser is, how high you've got the voltage/ wattage set to. The displays can be either LED, or OLED, again depending on your device

Drip Tip = a mouth piece for your device, and  is generally used with an atomizer, You simply use it in place of a cartridge. It doesn't matter which type of atomizer you use.The drip tip is made to fit specific models, so buy one to fit yours. To use a drip tip take off the cartridge from your atomizer. Put the drip tip in place. You can Drip E-Liquid directly on toyour atomiser or choose to drip it in your drip tip

E-cig = short for Electronic cigarette

Ego =

E-Liquid/ E-juice = The liquid used in Electronic Cigarettes, consisting of a mix of PG, VG, nicotine, and flavour

The Kick  is a simple way to enjoy variable voltage using an existing mod. The Kick is not an electronic cigarette, but rather an additional module that allows any 18650 based mechanical switch mod to function as a variable voltage, or more precisely a variablewattage electronic cigarette. Simply replace an existing 18650 battery with an 18500 or 18490 battery topped off by the Kick and begin enjoying all the vapour variable voltage has to offer!"

LED = Light-emitting diode, a semiconductor diode that glows when a voltage is applied.

Application in Electronic cigarettes, can be an LED display, or button

Lithium-ionbattery = (sometimes Li-ion battery or LIB) is a member of a family of rechargeable battery types in which lithium ions move from the negative electrode to the positive electrode during discharge, and back when charging. Li-ion batteries use an intercalated lithium compound as the electrode material, compared to the metallic lithium used in the non-rechargeable lithium battery.

mAh  = milliampere per hour. This refers to how many puffs you can take before the battery needs to be recharged.Slender batteries (like cig-a-likes) range from 90 to 280 mAh.

Again, the mAh determines how long it will last inbetween charges.

Man Batt = manual battery, has a button that you press to activate vapour production. You press the button to smoke it. It could feel unusual, and may not feel like an analogue cigarette, but you will get used to this, also you can hold the button down longer than inhaling to get more vapour production,. Also known as PV (personal Vaporizer).

mg = milligram

Mini = an e-cig generally longer than 110cm, larger in diameter than a super mini.

ml = milliliter

Mesh= woven metal wired sheet, used to make a metal wick

Mixer =  A person that mixes their own E-liquid

Mod = often refers to variable voltage/ variable wattage device, or a clearomiser atomiser where you can make your own coil and wick,  as you can change/ adjust the device to your own liking

Modder = A Person that likes to build their own

Nic = Nicotine

Nic base = A nicotine base, used to mix your own E-liquid, this can come in PG, VG or a PG/VG mix

NRT = Nicotine Replacement Therapy, Attempt to stop smoking in aid of Nicotine Replacement Products.

NRP = Nicotine Replacement Products, EG Gums, patches, Lossengers etc

Ohm = A measure of electrical resistance. A lower number indicates lower resistance and therefore faster heating. The Ohm window is 1.2-1.9 Ohms.

OLED =  (a self-luminous diode (it glows when an electrical field is applied to the electrodes) that does not require backlighting or diffusers)

Application in Electronic cigarettes: displays

Pen Style= an e-cig generally longer than 150cm, looks like a pen.

PG = Propylene Glycol ( a base liquid used in E-liquid)

PV = Personal Vaporiser, is another name for the Electronic Cigarette

Pyrex = (trademarked as PYREX) is a brand which was introduced by Corning Incorporated in 1915 for a line of clear, low-thermal-expansion borosilicate glass used for laboratory glassware and kitchenware.

Corning no longer manufactures or markets Pyrex-branded borosilicate glass kitchenware and bakeware in the US, but Pyrex borosilicate products are still manufactured under license by various companies. World Kitchen, LLC, which was spun off from Corning in 1998, licensed the Pyrex brand for their own line of kitchenware products—differentiated by their use of clear tempered soda-lime glass instead of borosilicate.

RMS = Root Mean Square.  RMS is a tool which allows us to use the DC power equations, namely: P=IV=I*I/R, with AC waveforms, and still have everything work out.  It's calculated by taking one cycle of a periodic waveform and squaring it, and finding the square root of the are a under the curve.  RMS is calculated differently for each periodic waveform.

Standard resistance = A standard resistance cartomiser/ atomizer is typically a range from 2.1-2.9 Ohms. A standard resistance atomizer is 2.5 Ohm.

Steel Mesh = Woven stainless steel 400 mesh. like sillica, is used as  wicking material foratomiseretc

You can get them in thin sheets of different sizes, and are easy to cut.

Super Mini = the smallest, usually from 80 to 110cm. closest size to an analogue.

Switch =  (how the battery is engaged): Most e-cig batteries originally had an automaticswitch (turned on by sucking on the mouthpiece or by sound or movement) as in a lot of cig-a-likes, also known as pen style.

Now, most batteries are manual (turned on by pressing a button on the side of the battery)

The most popular ones are the eGo style batteries.

THR = Tobacco Harm Reduction

Vape = verb as in, "do you vape?"

Vape = noun, as in, "that one is a good vape."

Vape = present tense " to vape (to smoke)

Vaped = past tense, as in, "that was the best juice I have vaped so far!"

Vaper = a person that uses an e-cig, as in "I'm a vaper."

Vaping = present tense, as in, "what are you vaping these days?"

Vapour = smoke produced by the electronic cigarette

vaporizer = is a name for the Electronic cigarette

VG = Vegetable Glycerin ( a base liquid used in E-liquid)

VV=Variable, Voltage

VW =Variable wattage

Voltage = (how much power is delivered to the atomizer): Most e-cig batteries are 3.2-3.7 V.Some mods are 5V or 6V.

Wick = The wick in an electronic cigarette are commonly Silica wicks, other veriaties, such as steel mesh wicks and fiberglass etc are also used.

The wick together with the coil form the atomiser, which is then fed with juice (e-liquid), and when heated at the right temperature by a suitable voltage battery, and inhaled, produces vapour.

The atomiser screws onto a suitable battery and a filled cartridge is then inserted into the atomiser. The filler inside the cartridge pushes into the atomizer bridge and the bridge sucks up the juice. When the bridge is moist enough, it feeds the wick with juice.

What is an e-cig or electronic cigarette?

An e-cig or electronic cigarette is a device that is either powered by batteries, or gets power through either usb port or power adapter.  Most appear identical in shape and appearance of regular tobacco cigarettes, though they do come in a variety of colors and LED lights.

You puff on these as you would a traditional cigarette, however, some are manual and require you to push a little button to activate the draw.  Electronic cigarettes are not to be confused as medical devices to help you stop smoking, but rather as an alternative to smoking.  The device delivers nicotine in the form of vapor, not smoke.  The vapor quickly dissipates in the air, and leaves no lingering burnt tobacco smoke or odor in the air.

What is an atomizer?

The atomizer is the part of the e-cig that heats the flavored nicotine solution that produces the vapor.

What is a cart/carto/cartridge?

Is a plastic cartridge, usually filled with a polyester material that soaks up the liquid nicotine solution.  The cart (on most e-cig devices) is usually the part that resembles the filter of traditional cigarettes.

What is dripping or the drip method?

Dripping is when you bypass the cartridges and drip directly to the atomizer of your device.  Some devices are built for this, while others are not.  We don’t recommend using this method.
